ABOUT
Dallas Unity String Orchestra is a volunteer performing organization created so that amateur to professional level string musicians have an opportunity to make music with other musicians simply for the joy of doing so. We rehearse every other Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:30 at Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, and we perform two concerts during our season, a winter concert and a spring concert. In addition to the concerts, we present several recitals throughout the year and host social events for our members. Although we do not require auditions for members, we do ask that you have a minimum of three to five years of playing experience and that you participate in chair auditions at the beginning of the season. The music we perform ranges from intermediate to professional/advanced levels, and we want all musicians to be comfortable with preparing every piece. We also want you to have fun doing so!
Adrian Rogers is the founder and director of Dallas Unity String Orchestra. He is from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and moved to Dallas to begin his teaching career in Music Education. He has played violin for many years and has performed with several ensembles. Prior to moving to Dallas, Adrian created a similar orchestra back home, the Tulsa Unity String Orchestra. He currently teaches orchestra in Rockwall I.S.D.
